Data Deletion Request (Right to Erasure)

 

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018; you have the right to request the deletion of your personal Data. This is known as the right to be forgotten (Article 17 GDPR).

 

As your driving instructor I Robert Whyard ADI, am committed to protecting your privacy and handling your Data in compliance with these regulations. If you wish to excercise your right to erasure, please follow the instructions below:-

 

How to Request Data Deletion 

 

To request Data deletion of your personal Data, please send an email to drivingsafeschoolofmotoring@gmail.com or admin@drivingsafeschoolofmotoring.co.uk with the subject line:  Data Deletion Request - [Your Full Name] 

 

In your email, please include the following information to help us identify your data and process your request effciently:

  • Your Full Name: (as registered with us)
  • Your Email Address: (Used for communication with us)
  • Your Phone Number: (Optional , but helpful for verification)
  • Reason for Request: (Optional, but can help us understand your needs)

What Happens Next?

 

1. Acknowledgement: We will acknowledge receipt of your request within 5 business days.

 

2. Verification: We may need to verify your identity to ensure the security of your data. This amy involve asking for additional for additional information.

 

3. Processing: Once your identity is verified , we will proceed with the deletion of your personal data from our systems,unless there is a legal obligation to retain certain data such as financial records for 7 years.

 

Confirmation: We will confirm the completion of your data deletion request within 30 days of receiving your deletion request.

 

Important Considerations

  • Legal Obilations: Please note that we may be legally required to retain certain information for specific periods (e.g,, finacial records, tax records). In such cases, your data will be retained only for the necessary period and then securely deleted.
  • Third-Party Data: If your data has been shared with a third parties (e.g. payment processors) we will take resonable steps to inform them of your erasure request.
  • Service Impact: Deleting your data may impact your ability to use our services in the future, as essential information may be removed
